ACCOUNTING STUDY PROGRAM



The need for accountants is getting higher along with the increase in the business sector. Quality graduates are increasingly needed to win the competition in the future. The Accounting Study Program is one of the study programs that seeks to answer the needs and development of the era. This is reflected in the development of a competency-based accounting curriculum that emphasizes public sector accounting, financial accounting and sharia accounting. The Accounting study program was officially opened in 1999. He graduated with a Bachelor of Economics (SE) degree.

Vision

In 2020 the Accounting Study Program of UAD became a superior study program in the field of accounting with global insight and Islamic values.

Mision

  1. Organizing learning processes based on competency.
  2. Produce graduates who have competencies in accounting.
  3. Carry out research and service as a manifestation of the implementation of accounting science.
  4. Develop an academic atmosphere that supports the learning process.
  5. Establish cooperation to improve study program competitiveness.
  6. Enhancing Islamic understanding as the foundation for developing academic science and life.
  7. Optimization of services to stakeholders.

Graduate Prospect

Opportunities are widely available with accountancy firms, investment banks, State-owned corporation,  insurance companies, management consultancies and public sector employers. Alumni of this program have worked as public accountants ( as independent auditor, financial and management consultant, tax consultant, and information system designer), internal accountant (BUMN/BUMD, multinational companies); government accountant ( as auditor), lecturers, entrepreneurs)

Competencies

Graduates comptencies comprise core competency, supporting competency, and specific competency.

Core competency

1. Cognitive (Knowledge)

The ability to comprehend and apply knowledge about financial accountancy, managemennt control system, accountancy check, public sector accountancy, tax, syariah accountancy, and entrepreneurship to analyze and resolve problems in business and non-business sphere and communicate them properly.

2. Psychomotoric (Skills)

Being able to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports for business and non- business institutions for decision making; to write a report on production cost and cost analysis; to design control mechanism and execute management control process; to calculate tax and write a tax report for both individuals and institutions and to draft plans and initiate entrepreneurship

3. Affective (Attitude)

Having a character and personality of an academician and social beings who upholds ethical and islamic values and is capable of dealing with future challenges in a dynamic global environment

Supporting Competency

Communication skills in both spoken and writen forms  using proper Indonesian and English,  skills in selecting and navigating information, processing and presenting data, skills in using information technology based multimedia, and the ability to execute accounting process by making use of information technology.

Specific competency

Graduates have knowledge about the basics of data base programming

Lecturers

The teaching team comprises 12 lecturers with master degree qualifications from either domestic or oversea education, two of them are currently undertaking PhD. Their specialized expertise include taxation, finance accountancy, public sector accountancy, management accountancy, syariah accountancy, information system, auditing, behavioural accountancy, and entrepreneurship.

Supporting facilities

The teaching learning activities are supported by facilities such as LCD, Audio Visuals, library, mosque, cooperative, canteen, parking lot, sports area, polyclinics, chemist, Student dormitory, and wi-fi area. The department also hosts  a laboratory equipped with 40 computers, AC, and LCD, and a share trade corner where students can do transactions in stock market and have access to data for researching purposes.

Student Achievement

The following is a list of students achivement at both national and international level:

  1. Pradhika Nurul Huda, B.Econ enrolment in dual degree at Guang Xi University (China) (2014).
  2. Rizqa Awalia Rahman, awardee of The Best Paper ASAC 2013 (Accounting Week, conducted by UAJY), 20-23 Maret 2013.
