ISLAMIC EDUCATION

1. Organizing academic programs in quality and useful PAI study programs.
   
2. Improve research activities for lecturers and students and encourage the creation of a good research climate, so that quality and useful research can be carried out.
   
3. Improve the quality and quantity of service and community service.
   
4. Collaborating with the government and private sector at national and international levels in conducting research education and community service.

1. Able to develop professional HR competencies in the field of linguistics and Arabic literature
   
2. Produce research that supports the development of education and teaching in the fields of linguistics and Arabic literature.
   
3. Providing services / community services using all relevant resources.
   
4. Providing expertise services to the community in the development of the scientific field of Arabic and matters related to Islamic sciences.
   
5. Collaborate with institutions that are oriented to the development of Arabic Language and Literature studies at the local, national, regional and international levels by conducting real programs in order to educate the nation.

Government civil service at Ministry of Religion, teachers, education staff, and entrepreneurs.

PAI graduates competency is based on three aspects :

1. Knowledge

Graduates of PAI are expected to possess strong knowledge of Islamic education so as to allow them for an effective delivery of Islamic education to society

2. Skills

Graduates of PAI are expected to possess the ability to provide sound explanation and description of Islamic education and to delivet it properly to students.  The teaching skills and knowledge are enhanced through the teaching apprenticeship in schools (Praktek Pengalaman Lapangan) prescribed to last semester students

3. Attitude

Graduates of PAI are supposed to demonstrate good behaviour according to Islamic teaching. They are expected to adhere to Islamic values in their manner of speaking and behaving

The teaching staff comprises 6 permanent lecturers with doctoral degree ( 1) , master degree (5) and 20 non-permanent lecturers. They graduated in Islamic Education and Psychology from either State-run or private universities. They have also acquired other course- specific knowledge such as Psychology for Islamic Education, tafsir (text interpretaiton/hermeneutics), hadits. Arabian language, Sosiology, English Language Education, American studies ( Culture $ Literature), history and Islamic Culture

To support the teaching learning process, the department has made use of a range of facilities and technologies such as LCD, comfortable classrooms, on-line student services, and Wi-Fi areas. Student practicum is also supported by computer lab, micro teaching, and teaching apprenticeship in schools such as SMP Muhammadiyah, SMA/SMK Muhammadiyahin Kulon Progo.
