GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING STUDY PROGRAM
The Guiding and Counseling program of Faculty of Teachers Training and Education Science was founded through the decree of Minister of Education and Culture No : 0139/0/1984, on 9th March 1984 as a registered undergraduate and diploma program. Its vision is to become a highly competetive and innovative program in the teaching learning and provision of guiding and counseling services based on most updated research and technology, as well as islamic values. Its missions are stated as follows : to conduct academic and professional programs ased on Islamic values, carry out research in the area of guiding and counseling, and provide expertise services in guiding and counseling for society. Graduates are entitled to the academic title S.Pd
Vision
In 2020 it becomes a superior study program that produces global-standardized and innovative national educators in research and technology-based Guidance and Counseling services, as well as Islamic values.
Mision
- Organizing academic programs and Islamic values based Guidance and Counseling professionals.
- Organizing research in the field of science Education is primarily Islamic value-based Guidance and Counseling.
- Organizing service programs for the community in the field of Islamic value-based Guidance and Counseling.
- Establish cooperation at the international level especially in the field of Guidance and Counseling.
Graduates Competencies
Graduates are expected to have the following competencies :
- Understanding basic knowledge of guiding and counseling and concept of objective and professional services to understand human behaviour as individuals or groups
- Understanding the basics of research in guiding and counseling.
- Being able to analyze and interpret every symptom of individual behaviour, choose appropriate method to deliver services professionally to individuals or groups.
- Demonstrating due sensitivity towards values, process and socio-cultural, political and economic issues which have impact on human behaviour to allow for sound judgment and interpretation of human behaviour in Indonesia social context.
- Understanding, internalizing and implementing ethical principles and code of conduct in services, scholarly knowledge, research and profession.
- Being able to write an assessment research report in the area of guiding and counseling in an academic and professional manner
Lecturers
The teaching staff comprises 2 professors, 1 doctor, 12 master graduates from domestic and oversea education, and 6 lecturers currently undertaking magister programs for different expertise in guiding and counseling
Supporting facilites
IT-based classrooms with LCD and Audio visual, PIK SAHABAT MENTARI ( Center for Guiding and Counseling Sahabat Mentari), individual and group counseling room, Group Guidance room, library, audio visual room, printed and electronic journal room, and counseling services for the public and families

- 3rd winner, Guidance Board Competition for Central Java and Special Region of Yogyakarta, held by UNNES, 2003
- 3rd winner, Guiding and Counseling Media Competition, held by UNS, 2012
- 2nd winner, Poster competition for higher education institutions in Special Region of Yogyakarta, held by Civic Education FKIP UAD, 2013
- 2nd winner, Information and Communication Technology media APE competition, 2013
- 2nd winner, Guidance Board Competition for Central Java and Special Region of Yogyakarta, held by UAD, 2002
